YouTube has been my trending app ever since the covid lock down hit. Opened up a "Zumba for beginners" video and began moving. I felt like my brain, my hands were not coordinating with my feet at times but it was a great kick! My dog waiting next to me was doing a short stares at me like "whach the heck are ya up to, now?" Didn't care, was gigling and enjoying throughout the Zumba
Green cunji (කොළ කැඳ, in Sinhala) is what my mother treated our entire family with, next. Every sip was soothing to the eyes, nose, tongue and to my entire system. I had it with a small piece of Palm jaggery (කිතුල් හකුරු)
Green cunji recipe:
Ingredients
- Shatavari plant (Asparagus racemosus) leaves; a handful or as needed
- water 4 cups
- coconut milk powder
- salt to taste
- cooked rice as needed
Blend the leaves with water. Filter the extract. Blend the extract with some cooked rice. Add coconut milk powder in to the mixture. Add salt to taste and bring to boil. As soon as it starts boiling remove from heat. Serve hot with natural jaggery or plain

I had a quick breakfast; a boiled egg, a piece of cheese and unsweetened biscuits
Then, off to work
Worked on saving a critical patient. I will share with you her story in the next post

I'm glad about how the day went from morning. I'm nothing but grateful that I was able to get up, do Zumba, for the healthy smoothie, the breakfast and that I was able to save a critical patient who was bleeding to death
"And I think to myself
What a wonderful world"
What are you grateful for today? Or what made you genuinely happy?
